true about the video. if you make humorous videos you're in luck..but for financial or travel sites, there's not much you can make a video about that will bring you free traffic.

#7 is not effective. People are being dissillusioned, and there's tons of spam now. Buying PR links is okay. There are many super-cheap, but nice PR links.

Can you explain a bit more about making video advertising effective? Do you get the best clickthroughs from putting your URL in the blurb next to the video clip on YouTube, or do you just add the URL into the video clip itself? Is there a way of making the video clickable on YouTube so that it goes to your own website? (I'm guessing not, but just in case I'm missing something

Yes, Forum and blog postings always gets you some good traffic. One important factor is the posting should be relevant to the thread. Article posting, press releases, can get you some good links. Posting on short term basis may not yield desired result.
