I don't think I will for a while because I've gotten so used to XP, and Vista is too fancy and graphical for my liking :S
i will never convert to vista cause i cant find a good reason to leave my windows XP, please tell me if you have one
because bill gates is running out of money and we need to support his habits?...no?...ok...i tried though
1GB is the bare min to be able to run Vista, let alone other programs!! No freaking way on the last part...you can't even run a program without some dumbass warning??? No way I would buy it just for stupid crap like that
Well, I switched to vista the week after it came out. In all fairness it was my birthday and I needed something for my parents to get me! But I am honestly quite suprised at what everyone here is saying about bugs... I have been using vista for what must have been two months at least now, and by using I do mean using it to the max of its capabilities, for about 6 or 7 hours a day. I have so far found one bug with it. I have generally found it to be more stable than XP was, and yes it does look much better . However, it also runs a bit faster on my system! There are several things with it does with more efficiency than XP did. The search function is much better, and all of my files are stored more sensibly than they were before. Personally, I think its great, and am glad I got it early, having said that I also ended up working on it during the beta phase, so by the time it came out, I knew what I was getting. Having said that I can perfectly understand why you might not want to upgrade, if XP is still working for you, at the moment vista drivers are becoming generally commonplace and soon, programs will start being aimed at vista instead of XP, but then I am running 95 on one of my computers, because I use it so rarely, that that is all i need. Not now , maybe later. I tried out the beta edition of vista , it had a lot of bugs and didn't support any of my onboard devices and its drivers. We have to wait till it is stable , before we can think of moving into it.
I will be converting in january of 2008 because that is what my university is doing. it'll be a free upgrade for me, so i'm kind of impartial to it. It will be annoying setting everything up again though.
I will switch to Vista once I buy myself a new PC(current one is very much outdated ) and also will wait for Vista SP1.
Just did after having the box sitting here for over 2 months. It wasn't as painful as a I thought. But I did back everything up on an external and did a clean install. Also, I can't use the Aero 3D thing because my laptop's graphics card is not up to par. That kind of sucks, but it's ok. I am happy thus far with the system.
