vista is worthless I don't think I'll ever install it willingly, more then likely use leopard vista is just xp media center with a few shinny buttons. To bad M$ says they will discontinue support for XP in 2008
When I buy a new computer. All of my friends said that it's awesome, but not worth the money spent. They all buy new computers and get it.
Well, my friend bought a new computer that came preinstalled with vista upon it and I got to say it is very annoying. They can't use thier digital camera with it. Thier printer does not work with it. The so called "new" computer is barely making it go. I have a laptop with 1.7ghz and 512mb and I have my xp zooming no problems with speed. They have a p4 3.2 with 1gb memory and let me tell you thier vista system crawls at a snails pace. i have tried to convince them to let me format and install xp cause the drivers would at least work on it and it was go way faster. They will not let me install xp. They say it is really pretty. Also, when you start any program it will ask you if it is okay to run it. Flashing the screen each time taking it's time to ask too. It is for sure safer, but annoying, because it does not learn and asks you over and over again about the same programs. .
This is why it is almost never logical to buy software when it first comes out. XP was pretty bad when it first came out too. Vista's capabilities are minimal compared to the actual resources it takes up. It's like a slow suped up version of XP.
ya I know The tech I work with said that MS did this with win 98 too and it took more then a year to stop all support. So I hope M$ will at least support xP untill 2009 or 2010
Vista still has some technical bugs/errors,they need to work on dat and then i may consider shifting to vista.
am happy with the xp, but then i will try vista with i get a new computer! am currently using a 5 years old computer which can't support vista, i will probably wait till a service pack is launched
if you have a new computer, enjoys graphical work using digital tablet and stuff, then it's worth it. Till date, the drivers arent that mature yet, i give them 3/5 rating for maturity for now.
When XP Support is dropped I am going to a Linux Distribution currently in development. It will run all the windows programs and such that XP can, with driver support and everything else. I am watching this project with a keen eye - because it would give me the best of both worlds.
Well I like XP and I will stick with XP untill Vista does not remove all bugs and problem which occurs during use of Vista.
Vista never. Maybe in a year or two. (Maybe) It has so many bugs. I like my XP ill stick with it. - Prilep
i don't know why you guys complain about vista resources , i remember when xp launched i heard the same thing but after few months most people used it , same thing here after few months may be year no one will complain about vista and everybody will love it , just like what happened with xp
