Amit, why would you want to do such a crazy thing like that?

I've tried it before and it's not pretty. I can give you the highest recommendation to let this idea fall from your mind.

I basically have couple vb forums and wanted to remove one due to low/inactivity , and reinstall/use the same licence on a new project.
So , instead of just closing the current forum i was planning to use phpbb on it to save all the couple thousand posts in it

Anyone knows any plugin/importer for that?

I don't think there's any import script. You'd have to write one. I think you're better off just buying another vB license, or just sell teh inactive forum.

I did try this once. I wasted a few hours of my time and a day's work of a coder. Would have been way better to just get another license.

If you're determined, it might be easier to go to IPB, there was a converter for the old free version of IPB. It will depend on what version of vB you have too.

If there is a converter, you would find it at one of these two sites.

    www.phpbb.com
    www.phpbbhacks.com

But, I still think you should listen to my original advice.
