What is the next big online marketing strategy?

What do you think is the next popular online marketing trend?

I'm seeing WordPress sponsoring as something that's getting more popular and popular so I'm assuming sponsoring "things" (whatever that maybe) might be the direction of some new marketing strategy.

    Your thoughts?

basically, you are right, maybe "sponsoring" of new "things" will be new trend, but I do believe "word of mouth" is still the best strategy ever....

Starting from big giants down to webmasters :)

Wordpress template links is on its way out actually.

Google Adwords is the wave of the future, and any other service they offer. Because, they're doing pretty well at quashing out any competition.

    1. Content - it always will be a KING. So everything that or other way will be able content.
    2. Social networks, going to by something like measure of pages and web-sites importance (probably instead of goolge).
    3. Revenue sharing. The market is growing and if people did something for fun yesterday, they will do it for money tomorrow.

    I agreed with Alexsgs.
Good Content is going to control the arena for the next 2 years or so.
Social networking is just starting to get hotter, and with shared revenue,
people will start to contribute excellent, fresh content automatically.
This is be the business model for the next few years in my opinion.

Wordpress theme sponsorship is on its way out. No on banner advertising. It is really going to be highly targeted video advertising through Joost. I'm also working on a site right now that will revolutionize the PR industry (total change in mind, same concert in a way).

What about marketing regardless of PR? Everything seems to be revolving around that. If google eliminated it (doubt that though) we would all be in trouble

In marketing terms, PR = public relations, not pagerank ;), which is what Im thinking you're talking about.

Anything Web 2.0 is going to be big. Social acts of any kind is like virtual word of mouth. Some people use the "social sites" in the wrong way and get artificial virtual word of mouth, but I think that's going to become harder and harder to do.

Google Adwords will only get bigger and more expensive. It's going to become for the larget companies only IMHO. Or those with deep pockets.

Content is Kong as John Reese said in his latest report and anything you can do with content (giving it away, submitting here and there, etc) is always going to be the biggest and best strategy.

    Just my two cents.. :)

Interactive banner ads seem to be more and more popular,

any thing different, that catches the viewers attention and makes them thing about the product or service the ad is offering.

Social networking will be the next biggest thing. I found a source that had described in great detail how YouTube and video blogging would bring in more traffic.

Well, I can add... the technology always moves through the different stages in its development... There are always some "hot" things, such as blogs were two years ago or social networks are now.

What we have now? Just having blog doesn't mean anything... you need to have a great blog which people (a lot of them) like to read and which generates your income.

Seems that with google ads generating profits should be easier, but it is not so. I think that all new "big things" give us an opportunity to get to the next level of our business without paying much.

It's a known fact, that new ("hot") markets are sometime easier to enter. So it was easy to enter social networking world, and it's getting harder now. So, we should use not technology themselves, but market entering opportunities, which they give to us.

I don't believe we we will just one big online marketing strategy arise but probably some strategies will get a stronger position in the marketing arsenal and will be used much more often...Some to list - word of mouth:), social networks, video content, interactive flash banners too. Wordpress themes, blogging in general as well, and vlogs definitely.
