I guess that most people might have had saw a decline in their PR .

    Things i noticed .

Grey PRs - Or Simply PR for pages not available in google toolbar .
Pages under this are seemingly ranked poor at google .
Reduction in pages indexed by google ( cut of about 40% )
PR going up and down . ( It was PR3 then PR2 then PR3 again )

I genuinely believe it's still too early to tell - PR export is still incomplete.
Preliminary results indicate one of my sites increased from 2 to 3 and the remainder held their previous rank.

Is seems that the so called Grey PRs are back indeed.

For those who don't remember, a Grey Toolbar meant that a given site had been banned.

Utter tosh! I see loads and loads of DP threads have a grey PR bar - have they been banned? Of course not.

Your right. I'm guessing that this might only apply to the root domain itself. It doesn't apply to the internal pages.

    Just a guess though.

I've experienced the same... some PR5 websites became PR4, but I don't think much about this, bacause my trafic (and sales) grow up.

Yes, by one, as did each competitive site.

In fact, that was the final straw for me writing the article "The Tower of Google" - see thread I started.

It was the final straw, because me and my competitors each held onto the same first page search positions, except I think that I nudged ahead of one company with a PR just "1" ahead of me.

That was the nail in the coffin for PR. It finally "clicked" for me, that no matter what the PageRank meter says, our sites still have to be somewhere, and still were somewhere.

And that's the only thing that matters. Not what the meter says, but where we are located on the results.

Join me, and get the PR meter off you browser - it'll simply things by getting rid of the irrelvant distraction.

Actually, the only reason I really knew about the change, was that someone posted about it on a non-web related forum. I hadn't even paid attention to the meter in like a month. It's been so useless. It was just this week that I finally realized how useless.

Many sites have experienced this decrease in PageRank. It looks like Google has finally gotten serious about spam, which was long overdue. :)

that is just stupid, I know of many "old", quality, legit sites that lost a PR point including this one.

Mine got 3 from 4, but it was pretty much a dead forum, so I don't mind.
