Is there any windows xp experts here... Just recently when I try to unzip files on my pc , windows gives me an error, saying that these files are bad for me..... I was always able to unzip files, now it only unzips folders, not the actual php files.... Anyone know what causes this?
I know that the reason its warning you is because its made to try and protect you, so that doesn't mean anything.. Computers are stupid sometimes.. I'm not sure why the folder is not letting you access the php files.. You may be able to try a different unzip client instead of the windows default. Hope this help a little bit!
No its actually something in windows..... winzip, win rar , also blocks it, because xp is blocking it
Have you gone into your Control Panel and checked your permissions ... I don't know you may have messed with something without even knowing...
disable the xp firewall, that may be causing the problem! close your internet connection before doing that. xp blocks certain stuffs, just press unblock and it should be all right,
I agree, use your anti-virus software to scan the files, also you could use Spybot Search & Destroy, and Ewido Security Suite and A-Squared to see if there is anything going on with those files...
I found the problem: I removed the "windows defender" software that windows just installed on my last upgrade . and all is well now Thanks for everyones help and ideas
i think the files are probably be corrupted. you should download that file again .. and try again to unzip. or if you are sure that its not corrupted try another programm to unzip it.
You can troubleshoot your problem step by step 1-try unzipping other file/folder, if others are working fine the file is corrupted. 2-use third party software like winrar or winzip to extract it,they will be telling you if it's corrupted or extract it. Goodluck
You should install and run a windows registry cleaner. It repairs everything automatically. Works well here. I have about two to three issues getting resolved from the registry check every week.
well the files may be corrupted check them out with winrar and 7zip these are also great tools for that work .
Lol, I never use those additional features from M$ and this seems to confirm that dissertation: Less Windows in Windows the better for the Windows
