You need to realize that GOOG isn't even a megacap yet; you can't expect them to continue to grow at such a rubust rate.

Interestingly, it says in article that many Yahoo emplyees (possibly directors even) will not work for Microsoft because of different work ethic.

GOOG doesn't have that kind of capital. Even if they did, they'll struggle with the Justice Department.

I really think that is the only way it will work for them...... Time and time again they try to compete and just when they think they are coming close, it all falls down again.... They clearly have no chance without buying Yahoo..... That is probably the best move they can possibly make....

Of course it is about Microsoft vs. Google. And never Yahoo vs. Google. Microsoft sees Yahoo as a dog bite at Google's feet. Yahoo has never faultered or devauled in any way. Even with Googles stronghold and webmaster tools. Yahoo has never fallen behind. In fact Yahoo's stocks etc. Have remained stable.

So I see no real comparison between Yahoo and Google and this point in the SE competition if there was any. Other than webmasters asking which was better. Again both are fruits, but one is an apple the other is an orange.

The only comparison I have seen is webmasters in forums trying to make Google and Yahoo better than one of the other. It all depends on the webmaster on what they want from their SE. I know some prefer Google others prefer Yahoo. And some prefer both like me.

A poll would be nice on this thread so that people could give their votes towards a successful merger (or partnership) eventually.
I don't think MS will buy Yahoo at this point.

We might actually end up with a duopoly if the acquisition goes as planned.

Interesting... yet I am not suprised. If someone wants to compete with Google, they need to create new, innovative ideas, and make everything very easy to use. Google is so clean, easy to use, and has brilliant ideas..... $50 Billion.... I don't think it would be worth it...

Lmao Ok. Go read up on Google's buying history of media outlets and things that are net related. Than we will talk. Microsoft and AT&T seem to think that Google is trying to do a Monopoly of things. And of all companies who have been hit with lawsuits of Monopoly and knowing better would be both Microsoft and AT&T. Google is practicing and flexing their muscles and are trying to monopolize certain things, especially via the net. Google is a giant what makes you think they are not trying to attempt to corner a market on something. Google by all means is not an innocent business.

MSFT said merger talks are no longer onging. It would had been interesting to see if MSFT would still agree to buy Right Media after they would had spent 50 billion on YHOO.

how about MicroHoo? good combination eh? I still prefer to use google other than yahoo. Microsoft won't be able to reach google's level without buying Yahoo.
