Gumball Rally 3000 - Year 2007

Any Gumball Rally fans round here?

I've just came home and I have seen some 10 cars on the road near my place - Lamborgini, sport Mercedes, I think it was a Rolls Royce and some very very lowered and very wide sport cars.

The route this year is London - Frankfurt, than by plane to Istanbul and drive to Solun and Athens (Greece), Tirana (Albania), through Montenegro, Dubrovnik (Croatia - I am some 100 km west from Dubrovnik), Wien (Austria), Berlin (Germany) and back to London....

I wanted to go to Dubrovnik to have a closer look but I've cancelled it because of rainy weather

 

Oh is that on now? i watched the 2005 one with jackass and tony hawk and stuff on a jackass dvd, but thats all i have seen of it

My friend is waiting for them in Dubrovnik and as soon as I get them I'll send them...

IMO, Jackass crew was earlier because they were in Dubrovnik in 2005 and I can't remember them being around. I think they were going to Russia and back...

 

yeh maybe a few years earler than 2005 im not sure though

 

we have a gumball in bc canada this weekend ....be it not as glamorous ....i should have some pics this weekend

 

While I was waiting for the Gumballers I reallly didn't know that Carbon Black Rally is also on its way through Croatia. They happened to be in Dubrovnik on the same day but they had a party there while Gumballers just had a small stop.

Gumball Rally ?? when its starting. I have seen the 2005 one. but not yet for 2007.

A Porsche crashed into another car in Macedonia, the driver died of a heart attack. The two British Porsche driver and co-driver have been questioned by police.

Sad way to end a rally.

Unfortunately the accident occured and the race was canceled. I was a litlle bit worried how will be to drive the sports car in Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro. Roads there are much worse than in Croatia and for people round here, who are used to drive on such roads, is sometimes very hard to drive, not mentioning people from western europe...

 

I've just found this as an addition:

"Margarita, passenger of the Golf and wife of Vladimir, died in the hospital today, 10 minutes before her husbands funeral. We are very sad that she passed away from the severe injuries she suffered from the crash two days ago."

I doubt it will be cancelled for good. Remember, its not a race, its a rally so anyone breaking the speed limit or racing each other does not represent Gumball in any way!

 

yeh thats true, but the organisers etc could possibly be getting some complaints about it, and they might not be able to risk letting something like that happen again, as this could spoil the reputation of it a little, that MO though but i dont know, hopefully it doesnt get cancelled
