IMO If the popups on your site dont contain malicious stuff like spyware, adware, malware e.t.c. then you'd do fine.

I believe his concern is this :

Google showed this warning because he wanted to visit a site with popups.

He's wondering if anyone out there serving popup traffic on their site will be affected in the same way. IE : Will Google show this warning when users want to visit. Showing that warning could very well deter many visitors from visiting.

I mean if Google says it's bad, it MUST be bad right ? So it could theoretically cause webmasters to lose traffic.

Google isn't always right but there is a good chance that the site is not worth your click.

You get these warnings a lot if you visit warez and hacker related sites.

I don't believe Google issues a warning because the site contains a popup or even popups it's because the popup contains spyware/virus.

I had this problem with paypopup.com that's why i removed there crappy popups even though i was only $10 short of being paid & lost my money more or less as i won't use their popups any longer.

It's got nothing to do with pop-ups, Googlebot has identified the site as running malicious code or exploits which could harm your PC.

If you run a Pet site, and use such malicious code you will get the same warning.

Listen to Google, hit the back button.

Yeas this warning is not caused by popups, it is because the site really is not a good idea to visit and it will most likely contain some kind of spyware at the very least.

P.S Popup traffic is crap and just annoys your visitors, why would you want that?
