What is your thought on those types of sites selling replica Louis Vuitton bags and products like that? i mean its counterfiet goods and taken pretty seriously in most countries.
No i wont accept them, the reason im asking is i got a few today, im curious about how directory owners see particular products and possibly class something as less serious because its not a digital product.
So is breathing air anymore but thats a good question... I guess it all depends on what you consider more valuable... The rewarding of such act with a link back for a few $$ Or Saying this is NOT right and i wont help thier cause... Ultimatly its your choice... thx malcolm
Personal choice of course but if you accept be aware that if a leading brand name product is looking to submit to directories, don't expect them to come knocking, if you are displaying reviews of replica or counterfeit copy product lines
Thats what was going through my mind too, it looks unprofessional and could put off good customers as you point out.
Most directory owners state they won't accept sites that promote illegal activities - I assume your TOS (I'm assuming you have one) does the same. Seems like you knew the answer before you posed the question.
I have submission guidelines in place and i list the obvious that many other directory owners do, but im now realising that there are so many more types of sites that are also risky and although i know its common sense myself not to list them if their selling products like that i wonder if some directory owners would innocently not be aware of the risk of listing sites selling fake rolex, bags or similar.
Well if they have a disclaimer, perhaps its not so illegal? Maybe there are those who buy replicas?? I don't know about purses and bags, but when it comes to sport jerseys, people buy replicas all the time.
Well talking of sports Jerseys and replicas i think i know what you mean regarding them as for example football supporters purchase a replica football shirt of their favourite player but its not counterfiet, its just a replica as in based on the original, like with number 10 on it and the players name, a fully legal product though. But these sites that im talking of, actually state that its replica, as in fake, bags, watches, etc
Seems DMOZ and Yahoo! don't have much of a problem with these retailers. I believe both Yahoo and dmoz will not accept sites with unlawful content. Yahoo offers a specific category as well: Replica Handbags Find replica handbags, purses, backpacks, makeup bags, and wallets that look just like the designer originals. Browse through online stores selling replica handbags and accessories. Are these counterfeit? Doesn't sound like it; seems they only offer replicas and it doesn't appear that the retailer is trying to pass their goods as the real deal. Is this an illegal activity? Doesn't seem like it to me; but I'll claim ignorance as I don't shop for knock-offs, so I have little interest in the legality of buying/selling replicated merchandise. So I guess it would come down to personal preference and how you want to develop your directory.
This is kinda like downloading dvd rips off limewire... just ethics or something like that, I dunno.. lol
Yes, it is a step in evolution. I want to buy an Original Premium item, whatever, on eBay , and the pirate makes such a nice advert and accompanying website Sadly , when the fake arrives to my country, I must make a SCAN of the Fake and the GENUINE together for the PayPal Dispute Process in readiness for six weeks waiting for my money back from Paypal. Takes longer if fake pirate seller is Squaretrade. This Process is slightly faster nowaday, so yes this "Listing Obvious Fake as a Fake" is good, because would take longtime waiting time and lost postage out of the transaction, would make for less troubles in the PayPal Dispute Department. Handbags and Wallets who cares, but Versace Tshirt for example, worn against girlfriend skin, and etc , I absolutely dispise to pay even $1.00 for a fake, but for a genuine to pay $175.00 is cool.
alright nevermind my last post... I see I may be posting something completely different than what the topic is about
