Squeeze Pages are Obsolete!

Squeeze pages are getting more and more uneffective.

They still work, but if you have one, it's maybe not the most effective way to get value out of your visitors.
A opt in conversion rate of 15% to 30% sounds great, but what about the 70% that don't opt in?

They're gone forever! you have just lost them.

I have just read about someone who has tested the effectiveness of the squeeze page model against other marketing models, and it was...who else than the Mega Testing-Freak himself, John Reese! Laughing
(you can find it in the report here, it's really an essential read: (free download, no self promo - attend: There's no squeeze page :) http://www.income.com/images/reports/rebirth.pdf )

He has found that in the majority of his tests the direct sales letter model produces more revenue.
but with that model you are not building your list.

So what he recommends is to GIVE CONTENT UPFRONT!

People getting ever more sick and tired of being made promises, they want to see value first. John calls it the "Reverse Squeeze page" model.

I have seen this already several times from good internet marketers, and in has impresssed me immediately as a marketing strategy. I thought, that must be very effective. For example give a video to watch, which really gives value, and is not only a disguised sales pitch. Andy Jenkins and Brad Fallon have done this with their Stompernet SEO videos last year and it impressed me very much.

Then if the people want more content, they can get it by opting in a list, or buying something. and if they liked what you gave them for free and want more of that, then they will be glad to do it.

Yea but 70% of those gone are better then 95% visitors gone. I know from fact from my squeeze page that it converts about 20%. My actual site only converts about 3%.

But my mailing list converts 65%. Visitors hardly buy one first contact, it's a fact that 80% of sales are made on the 5th contact. Thats why its important to have a list. The 95% of people who leave a reg. site most likely will not come back.

    Just my 2 cents

Of course, I have no way said that you should not build your list.
Have you read my post to the end? The reverse squeeze page model is just ought to be more effective for getting people into your list.
And those who don't subscribe, maybe have got great content from you, and they will be more likely to remember you (in a positive light), come back, tell others...

HaHa only if it was that easy, when people subscribe to your list it is not spam. They want more info.

I offer a 7 day street magic course. So I teach them free stuff for 7 days. How could that be spam??

There's a saying money is in the list, but the real money is from building up the trust in you, before they buy from you.

Other marketers offer a free SEO course or free report etc...

I guess if your a noob and only send out SPAM messages like BUY NOW, BUY NOW then that would be such a waste of your mailing list.

    Hm.

I've definitely noticed a decrease in squeeze page conversion, but those are best for promoting on traffic exchanges, where I built most of my list...
