Any reason you didn't choose to keep Adsense up alongside CJ? Very interesting to hear, I was never very successful with commission based sites, but that was a long ago. It's definately worth testing.

Since you've owned (still own?) media sites, do you think it'd work well on these sites?

I think you are 100% right, if google is able to pay Adsense Publishers, that is because Advertisers Are Able to Pay Google, and if Advertisers are able to pay google thats mean they are Making Money from sales and commisions
(more money than what they pay to google, and google pay only a share of this money to publishers)

The real money is in affiliates, commissions and sales, i dont know why people are so obsessed with adsense.

I don't run adsense and cj.com at the same time for the reason that some of the adsense ads are competing or luring people to click the adsense....

For example if I have cj.com ads for Hammers , and there are 5 google ads that say " cheap hammers on sale now" why should I let google give me 5 cents when the person could just use the product and I make a much higher commission ..

As far as game sites / media sites I have tried, I actually just use cpm for those sites since all most of those visitors want to just browse and play so cpm is perfect for those :)

I haven't been able to see the verification code on the very bottom of the 2nd page on the publisher app no matter what I do (or which browser), so I can't join. :(

Affiliate programs are very nice for product related websites but I never made a sale on my technology blog with Commission Junction. I did however run Adsense in tier 1 and CJ at the bottom of each page.

    Some click-throughs but no conversions.

yeh my adsense has really started to dry up lately

i added cj stuff about a week ago and i am thinking of putting it in my prime ad spots and leaving the adsense to fill the gaps lower down the page

Yup, I have found my adsense income declining, despite giving them more impressions from the same sites. It's the ad quality thats decreasing. More MFA sites and less quality. SO when people bounceback, our sites tend to get smartpriced into nothingness.

In the meantime, my CJ income has been increasing as I work those ads a bit harder and more effectively.

Like anything else, dont put all your eggs in one basket.

I have almost complete gave up on adsense. Their rules are becoming absolutely ridiculous few the few pennies that us publishers earn. I have found that affiliate programs are great, but my all time favorite is auction ads. I have replaced most all of my adsense blocks with these ads and am producing, on average, 10-15% more revenue.

This is an excellent example for cj.com and I am not getting anything from adsense. Looks like I will move one of my sites to cj.com

I make the majority of money from cj on my website as well!

I make about 75% from CJ leads, and 25% from adsense on my website: http://www.slickcoupon.com

I never thought about making all of my ads CJ, but I think I will do that!

    Thanks for the tips!!!
