G is getting a bit ridiculous. I understand preventing accidental clicks, and I understood the images next to the ads policy, but I feel that people know what ads look like and as long as they still look like ads they should be left alone. How long will it be until google places the ads where they want on our sites.
Actually , this one makes a lot of sense. Ads near Flash-games = accidental clicks. There are sites that live only off such clicks.
If it were pay per impression this would make a lot more since. I need to convince The New York times to let me advertise in their paper but only pay for the issues that lead to a sale. All the rest they should just give to me for free.
Put ads at a place so no body can see them = no clicks = no invalid clicks = no worry. But when that happens, it'll be the end of pay per click.
well i thing they are trying to make us move the adsense ads where ppl CAN'T see them! well what is this!? I want to promote good sites and tools and such to my visitors and i want they to be able to see them! Well wasn't this the idea of adsense or i'm wrong?
Generally, we ask that you not place your ads near features of your site that your users may interact with by clicking. No problem on a static page. But where on a message board is there not a link?
Premium publishers (like digg.com) can get away with a hell of a lot more then "regular" publishers can.
%70 of adsense publishers places the ads near menu.Premium or not is not important at this point. Place the ads at the footer ^^
Too prevent any problems I changed my ad format to:

I should be safe now
I am sure that I am not the only one who is starting to have a gutsful of the big G. I make a resonable amount of $$ from Google but this is starting to get stupid. I have added some affiliate programs to my sites as well as adsense; I'm looking foward to seeing how the affiliates go
i don't think they mean link units also. when you click on ad that you didn't mean to,the first thing you do after you say crap!,is back click.that becomes an invalid click.that can't happen on link units. lets hope so.
I never thought that would of been right in the first place? Your misleading your visitors into thinking it's a nav bar.
thats what someone said on their website, not what google said. my point and googles point on the blog was invalid clicks by clicking on an ad my mistake. they can click on a link by mistake which wouldn't count for anything, but if they click on an ad in the link unit, that wouldn't be an invalid click.
Google told me to put the links between the log in box and th Nav box. And I understand accidental clicks but how to you mistake a google ad for anything but a google ad. It even says "Google" and "ad" right on it
