More PR Insanity

At the end of January, I registered a domain for a project I will commence soon. Instead of leaving the domain blank I put up a vanilla WordPress installation but never posted a single entry. Nor have I ever done a single stroke of work to promote the domain. And I checked to see whether the domain had been previously registered - nope. Also, G lists no backlinks for the domain. However, in the recent PR export the domain went from PR0 -> PR2. How on earth can this be explained? Any ideas?

    that's so right.

from what i've observed, age probably carries like 50% (or even more) of search engine ranking weightage.

It seems like the more google redoes page rank the worse it is. I see some sites that have been gone for over 1 year now still listed in top 10 for some keywords. You click on link and site is gone no longer and will not be back.

How can a site that is gone still be listed that high and be back on results after it was taken off search results for over 6 months.

    Hi,

Yes, I appreciate that age can be a factor. It just seems very odd that I have other domains that are 2-3 years old with vanilla WordPress on them that are still PR0.

I was not so lucky. I bought a domain in December --hosted it --and installed Mambo. Left it with few words such as under construction -please check shortly. But no PR for me.:( Naturally I didn't build any link
