What am I missing?

This has been bugging me for weeks.

I run a website for a hoa in houston and think I've done a pretty good job of optimizing it for the few keywords which are relevant to it. But for some reason I can't get to the top of the list for one specific search.

if you do a search for s t a b l e w o o d (take out the spaces... don't want the mighty DP forums to show up in the search results for this site... also don't want to link to those sites for the same reason.) You'll see 4 sites that rank above the HOA site. The PR of these are somewhere between 0 and 3 respectivly whereas my site is a 4, furthermore the source for them is atrocious. The ONLY things these 2 sites have going for them that I can tell is that they are older than my site?

    Does ANYONE have any suggestions?

You have already answered your own question. Age matters.

Age definitely matters. If your seo work was decent, and their's not-so-much, just keep going. You'll over take them.

    Patience.

I think I've got to be missing something though.

In the case of at least 2 of the results we're talking about an age difference of less than a few months.
