Hello, My website which was ranked on Page 1 for main keywords is completely gone from Yahoo Search. Is there any way to contact Yahoo to find out what is going on? How can it be completely gone overnight? Or is it some kind of update Yahoo is performing which caused it? Anyone else experienced this?
If you type in your website's URL, does it appear in the SERP? If not.. your site might have been banned from Yahoo.
My suggestion is to be patient for a week or two. Two of my sites have fallen from #3 & #5 to #11 & #22. In the past, each of them has completely disappeared for a while. Very few of my competitors have changed their sites much recently, so there is no apparent reason for this major shift. I tweaked my two sights slightly, and may have tripped some sort of keyword density filter. Anyway, be patient for a week or two. Chances are very good that your site will return and at a better position. That assumes you have not done anything that would cause a major penalty or complete ban. /*tom*/
I typed in the site and it appears in the serps... I checked the status on teh backlinks, and it appears fine...!! I am not sure what has happened. May be just wait..!!
Jazz7620, I noticed today one of my sites is completely gone from Yahoo Search also for certain keywords. But I still show up in serps...I hope it comes back I was a little upset myself tonight. Good Luck
Did you pay Yahoo! to get listed in the directory. I think gettign listed in Yahoo Directory helps building backlinks faster...!!
Yahoo has changed itself recently, now it's ranking methods are more simmilar too google's imho. But to banned from yahoo one should do something really blackhated.
Same problem here my website is gone completely, even when i search for the url. Ive been told to wait for a while, its been a week and im starting to get worried. Can't think of anything I could have done to get banned from yahoo. Is there a way to contact them in such cases, just to get some explanation to whats going on? Thanks, Piz.
I found an email on some forum, I wrote to them but still waiting for reply. I wrote at reportsearchspam AT yahoo-inc DOT com try explaining what happened to your site with urls etc...Some people got response from that email address.
One of my sites that was killed by google (but still indexed) suffered the same in Yahoo too a week later.
I posted a thread about this happening to me with google last week. I was completley dropped and then a couple of days later everything came back to normal, so I would not worry for now. Paul
