I've only recently came to understand dropshipping. It seems you can get a dropshipper for anything from the most popular products to random obscure items. My main question is, how does one even go about finding a dropshipper to provide their stock?
I am also looking for DropShippers and want to find out a lot more about it, so if anyone could help, that would be great!
WWB has a private area where members type in the goods they want to sell and get a list of companies who dropship those items (you can also search by many other criteria, such as general categories of goods). Along with the name of the company you also get contact info, many times down to a specific person, and website addresses and, very important, terms of business, ie. dropshipping fee, etc.
Make sure you find a reputable one! I've had my share of bad experiences but If you find a good one its great! Jason
If you have some startup money go for World Wide Brands, in the end it is worth every pence and will put some extra spare money into your pockets!
For those who have experience working with dropshipping, what'd be the range of gross margin (including courier cost)? What'd be the worst/best products to sell with dropship?
Your profit margin depends on the product you choose, find a niche and you can get 100% profit including delivery etc. Popular more competitive categories your profits will be low >5% buying in bulk will only provide real profits. Key is to find a niche, hard but profitable.
Thanks! The reason I asked is my friend has about 18% of GP including delivery. But after all the hosting and ebay and bank fee etc, the 18% just barely enough to breakeven. So it seems there may be a magical minimum % to make this dropshipping meaningful. So is my friend too inefficient to make any money out of this, or is this a norm?
Firstly eBay is the hardest place to sell and make a reasonable profit though it is possible. You may just be an entering a market that is already too competitive look out for new innovative products. The profits on dropshipping are generally small anyway, if you want to make larger profits consider wholesale. There is alot more to it than meets the eye.
There are plenty of free sources on line for inventory and dropship suppliers. DBL, DH, XS Depot, Moteng, etc....are some great programs to start with. If you only try to sell dropship on eBay you will have very low margins because some users use eBay to market an existing site where they promote the rest of their dropship and other products. The trick when searching for programs online is there are plenty of "middleman" or second tier or even third tier sites which try to make it seem like THEY are the wholesale source. .....but you just end up selling dropship products FOR THEM if you are not using the true supplier source.
