I've just built this gaming site and my writers are busy getting game reviews written but I was wondering if I could have some feedback regarding; - asthetics and design - revenue generation methods (i.e. are there other methods apart from adsense and amazon affiliates which would be more effective in producing revenue) - SEO The URL again is www.justfragit.com
Design wise it looks okay to me, it doesn't take my breath away but equally it doesn't put me off. There are plenty of other gaming affiliates you could use alongside of Amazon, you could even try eBay or Auction Ads for some of the older games. You probably want to change the about page:
I like it, nice and clean. The colours don't blind me. Although i suggest putting a margin on the whole body div so that the footer isn't hugging the very bottom of the window.
The header design is nice! However, I think the white background in the blocks look odd against the background of the header.. what I would do is remove it and just have the objects placed on the header without the box.
Looks ok from over here Mr. Weir. From my point of view I would try and broaden your revenue streams from the start, ie. affiliates, Auction Ads, direct ad sales etc.
Thanks for your comments! Thanks also... yes it's wordpress. I found a fantastic theme to go with the website banner. Didn't even have to tweak much.
Nice BLOG out there. Very beautifully designed template. Espacially the HEADER. Nice adsense placement and interesting stuff posted. Good luck
Thanks for the positive comments. Does anyone else have anything negative to say or are you going to let me go about thinking that my site is the first perfect site ever designed?
Nice blog, I would suggest you to change the large rectangle box at the bottom of the page into half banner, and place another half banner at the top of the page. Regarding the seo, I would say that you should change your permalink, my recommendation goes to %category%\%postname% Good luck
It's a nice design overall. Though I think you should make the actual body corners rounded to match the header, and make the corners of that header transparent...right now you've hot the rounded image, but whitespace left over at the corners of the bottom..looks a little tacky like that. I've seen a lot of times that removing the borders from adsense ads can increase your CTR%...just food for though ...not sure how it would look with no borders... and instead of having two pictures (the main image next to text, and then amazon below)...could you incorporate amazon in the place of the static image in the text? (not sure if you can do this..but I think it would look nicer) It's a very nice site, with a tiny bit of room for improvement
Thanks for the comments. I've just submitted an article for 200 directories pointing the link back to the current Nintendo Wii page. I hope it's not too late to change the link because I wouldn't like to have to stick some extra mod rewrites to redirect the traffic already!! Thanks for the permalink code. I'll get that added as soon as I find out if it's possible to change the article submission links. Some very good points there. I'll see if I can get my designer to adjust the header to incorporate those suggestions. I'll maybe take away the borders on 1 adsense ad and create a new channel for it and see how it performs compared to the others. I may even create a script to rotate the google ads evenly so that we can calculate more accurately which type of ad placement works best. This would make a fairer test as the ads would be in the same place and have exactly the same page impressions. As far as putting the Amazon image in place of the image I have there, I'm not sure about it. I've seen Amazon pull the images completely from live websites before and a few months down the line I wouldn't like to logon to the site to find there are no images of the products. Alternatively I could place the Amazon advert below MY picture with text only but I will leave it for a while as I'm going to test and see whether the sore thumb strategy does anything for the Amazon ads.
Yeah, it's not too late, you may also wish to use the permalink redirect http://fucoder.com/code/permalink-redirect/ hope it helps Goodluck --------- Thanks for the rep
My pleasure to be helpful2u, I guess your URL will be more Search Engine Friendly. However, why do you make 1 post and mark it for 2 category? when it's nintendo, I don't think it's general. Selecting two categories are causing your URL to be like http://justfragit.com/general/nintendo-wii-features However if you select only 1 category i.e Nintendo Wii, your URL will look like http://justfragit.com/wii/nintendo-wii-features You may remain this as it is, and take care of it in future, and if you want to keep it in both category just rename the general into Nintendo Wii, and nintendo Wii to general (this will change their index id of wp) and will give more SEF URI Goodluck
