Do you think that links from word cloud sites are pointless for SEO purposes? From what I can tell when they only have a few links bought it could be temporarily worth it but as soon as the outbound links start growing it becomes less worthwhile. I have read that the PR of a page gets spread out between all of the links on that page, is this correct? Do you buy links on word cloud sites?
they are worthless,i bet. read mattcutts views and you will know that cloud site, text link ads are all going to die. i bought links at few word cloud site and spent almost $60 but you know what happened. my pr dropped from 4 to 2 in this update.
but your drop may not be due to the wordcloud...wordclouds are still a hit or miss in terms of PR...but the main thing is to worry about Traffic and not PR, unless you plan on selling links off your PR 4 or 5 site...
wordcloud sites link to almost any site that is willing to pay.....the sites usually have no theme..they are totally worthless
Wordcloud links are mostly just a scam. The recent Google news will hoepfully get rid of this shady market.
Indeed it does help. It wont harm for sure...... You PR drop has nothing to do with word clouds. The maths: Lets say you buy a link for 0,50$ and not only it will improve your PR it will bring in 5 uniques a week (extrmely low mostly it is much higher). 5*52(weeks) = 260 uniques a year. 0,50/260 = 0,002$ PER VISIT !! Now I am sure you wont find lower advertising then that !! http://www.geek417.net
Yeah thats cheap, but that traffic is probably actually only worth about 0,00000001 per visit. Traffic coming from a word cloud site that is just a condensed pile of random text links are purely random curiosity clicks. Practically worthless traffic in my opinion.
Depends. If you make your link stand out.... Or if your link is directory related it can be valuable indeed.
I personally do not understand why people use matt cutts like a demigod. He has great knowledge but man, guys hes there to give you help his word is not law. alot of what google gives you are general guidelines. What matt gives you is general guidelines. If the links are cheap and if they are in your target audience by all means take advantage of it. SEO is very simple, good code, follow simple design rules and your gold it hasnt changed much in 13 years. If you try and manipulate situations u will get bit. But please guys matt is not a god ok. If you asked him what his info is for is a general guideline, but i can guarantee if you asked matt, hed tell you to experiment and use his info as a tool not as word of law. No link is worthless guys. The point is to create content good enough to have people link to you without needing to ask for them. The more links the better, the more good links even better. But its still a link. Google understands that you cant control who links to you, and one link is not going to kill you. Its alot easier to go forward in pr than back. Just use a good program of linking, smart code and content and youll always benefit. beyond that, pr is basically worthless system. Id rather have a pr2 site with #1 and #2 placement in good keywords in the engine, than a pr6 site that cant be found. Pr is a great way to sell links thats about all. Bottom dollar is placement in the engine. Keep that in mind.
see my word cloud directory. http://www.word-tagcloud-dir.info Just a little modification makes a difference. *I'm not accepting any link currently though sorry
I never agree with everything people say, guess I'm just too opinionated for that. You came damn close, my friend. You had me right up to the point of saying "No link is worthless guys" ... but you recovered nicely. Yes there are worthless links out there (JS, comment spam, link farms, etc), *most word clouds are worthless but that is because they are not themed well. Put the words Jefferson, Washington, Bush, Reagan, Jackson + Lincoln on the same page with a little content and the theme becomes good American presidents and those links carry weight. Put the words Cuisine, Laptops, Ford, Office, Panties, Corn + Jones in a word cloud with no other content on the page and the links become worthless. So, yes, there are worthless links. That does not change the fact that cobby should be your new demigod. Well said boss.
not worth it. too many links on the page. i purchase more than 5 for my single site, and latest pr update, not even helping little. waste of money and effort
well, my word cloud is actually a directory. Every word is under a category. I think I said this before, but the very problem with those word cloud sites are basically this; using expired domains. People should be more careful when purchasing a link. I agree that all word cloud sites look like link farm because they don't usually have any theme or niche.
Hey, are you the ikeyword.info guy? If so I just plugged your site over here and I agree that if there is a word cloud concept that will work it is yours. Great original directory!!! Kudos to you if it's yours.
