I don't know why but I like commenting and I leave comments whenever I can, But very few people made comments on my blog...
It usually takes a while before a blog will begin to generate comments. Be patient and continue to write good articles and you'll start to see some comments! Also be sure to continue commenting on other blogs . . . it is an important part of getting people to comment back on your site. Give it some time. BTW - You've got a pretty good blog there. Keep it up!
Often times people don't know what to say, and other times people are reading hundreds of blogs via feed readers (or bookmarks) and don't have time. My rule of thumb has always been "On a decent post, expect 1 comment for every 1000 people who see it, or 1 per 100 if it's a good post, or 1 per 10 if you have a loyal following (e.g. small personal blogs)".
The Nofollow removal is really helpful. This ensures that people will see seo benefits from their comments. Many people see a big increase in comments after doing this.
remove the "rel="nofollow" thing at comment pages(default is on @ wordpress) then ppl will make comments to your posts for backlinks etc.
Thanks for the link to the plugin. I've just put that into place on my blog, since the comments are moderated anyway. Jay
hmm thnx for the explanation, but anyway I dont remove rel nofollow stuff then coz I dont want people make comments just for backlinks , content is more important.
I love to leave comments. Sometimes I wont if I dont know what to say. Can anyone tell me if my blog follows?
You'll get spam with or without the DoFollow plugin. Just moderate your comments if you're worried about SPAM. Also, be sure to use the following plugins for wordpress: Aksimet, SpamKarma, Bad Behavior. Ginene - your blog has NoFollow set up. I'm not sure if hosted blogs will allow you to add DoFollow. Just click on a comment link and look at the properties.
Some other tips: Ask a question. Do what Steupz suggested. Deliberately leave out an obvious point about what you are writing about. Like for example, do a top-10 list but leave something that should be there. Be controversial - careful with this, might attract flamers and affect long term credibility. This is quite obvious too - respond to your commentators. Comments beget comments! If you are using Wordpress, get the "Top Commentators" plugin. Works well if you've got good pagerank. Might attract pointless comments though. In which case, moderate! I wonder if anyone else have more tips to suggest?
I found how to fix it in this blog http://andybeard.eu/2007/02/ultimat...sh-nofollow-from-comments-and-trackbacks.html I hope I did it right. I removed the code that says rel no follow
