I lost my expensive phone.

I've misplaced my Motorola Q - it HAS to be somewhere in my apartment, long story short. Battery is dead, so I can't phone it.

Anyways, I don't have insurance (silly me). What do I do? Phone Sprint and tell them? Order a new one, sell the old if I ever find it?

It's an expensive phone, $399 off the shelf. I need it.

    How about looking for it?

Look in your laundry basket (assuming you don't just throw your clothes on the floor!), that's where my cell phones, PDA and keys always end up after a long day/night out.

I've literally turned my entire apartment upsidedown looking for the thing.

I was streaming music on it on the ride home, pulled into the driveway, couldn't find it later that night. Turned the car upside down three or four times.

You looked under ALL of your furniture AND in all of your clothing pockets?

You sure you didn't do something stupid like walk into your house, grab a beer, and put your phone in the fridge?

I've put my keys in the fridge more than once

Sounds like you need to spend more time looking and less time whining.

Oh, AND I've done laundry since. Nothing. Nadda, nilch. I've cleaned three of my rooms to a degree of nastyness that is cleanliness, with STILL no luck.

So, do I call Sprint and report it stolen? Think they'll replace it? Maybe? Anything I can social engineer?

check your trash can in the bathroom and kitchen. If you had your paypal info on the phone, call them right away to fix your account.

You should have looked at any possible place you might left it.

Just look around your place, it must be there. If you have lost it, phone sprint and tell them you have just bought a new one and lost it, they may give you a slight discount. :)

go to sprint, and buy insurance...go back 2 weeks later and say you left the phone on top of your car and drove off, losing the phone. They should give you something.
