You are only wasting your time and money.
I tried and was losing $$$ monthly as they RAPE you when you target certain WORDS.
If the word is very hott like submit site, add url, then expect to pay 50 cents per click or up
to 2.00 dollars if google feels its that much more popular.... and no guarentee that they will submit
or that your competitors will not click your ads just to cost you $$$$ Bad idea...

Stay away from Adwords........ trust me its wasted time and $$$
I will not support them and/or any directory that uses adsence

    thx

I'm using adwords and have had some quality submissions from it, but I'm monitoring it carefully and it doesn't look profitable. I'll give it a couple more weeks.

The really good keywords are very expensive so you do have to track it closely. You could easily spend a quick $50 or $100 and get zero conversions. If you go for the lower-cost keywords then your chances of conversion will be very low and it will also be hard to make money.

    That has been my experience.

    Agreed 100%
I tried it with my printed gifts site... I could have wiped my rear end with the cash and saved money...

wow, didn't know it was so convincingly inadvisable to use adwords. have not ventured down that path yet as i thought it was not sustainable and preferred to spend my marketing budget on more long-term investments..... looks like it was the right choice ;)

I remember in my starting days, I wanted to use AdSense as I thought it would bring some submissions. But for certain words, the price was around $2-$7 a click. Thank God, I never started that compain ;)

Better to spend your mony on getting links from relevent site. Will bring traffic as well as submissions.

Everything thing have some pros and cons, same is with the adwords.

It's a really good source to get targetted audience and than convert them into your sales lead/conversion.

But you must be kewl enough to choose right keywords for your site to save $$$ and regarding the competitor, think about yourself, do you click on your competitors adwords ad on google? (in short your competitor is not always there to harm you) and google also takes care of fraud click and give you appropriate refunds.
