Should I make games popup on my arcade?

My site is http://www.woochoochinchilla.com and I just made a mod for the script to have the games popup in their own window. I am now debating if I should make my site popup only like Newgrounds.com. And the pages that the games are on now would stay there but they would just be for information, comments and such. Then the there would be another link that makes the game popup (Again like newgrounds). I don't know if my users will like it. Only 2% 0f my visitors have java disabled so that is not a big problem.

Can you guys tell me your opinion?

So far I have come up with:

    Pros:
    More pageviews
    better seo on game pages

    Cons:
People with java disabled can't play

I wouldn't do this because several people have pop up blockers and it would be annoying to turn them off just to play your games.

A majority of internet users have a popup blocker of some sort. I have Norton Internet Security, Google Toolbar (With popup blocker), and a third one I can't remember and the popups work for me.

I personally think it's a great idea, especially if the games are in one long list or several long lists. It prevents having to reload pages when they click back or whatever.

Personally, I'd use something like this:
    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex8/dhtmlwindow/index.htm

Of course you wouldn't want it open by default like on that page, but simply use the links to open it up. It'll take a bit of tweaking I'm sure to get it right, but it's just what I would do...

Those little dynamic windows will not be stopped by the pop-up blockers because it's not actually opening a new window.

I see no reason for a popup, unless you have bandwidth issues.

Are javascript popups activated by the user clicking a link blocked by popup blockers? If so why doesn't Newgrounds.com use those dynamic windows?

I have 3 pop up blockers installed, not counting the one pre-installed in the browser and the dynamic ones I linked to didn't trigger any. Again, they're not actually opening a new window. It's technically a moveable frame...

Could you try one of my game popups and tell me if it works. http://www.woochoochinchilla.com/categories/38/animations.html. Click any of the links that say "Play in popup." I would rather use an actual window.

Ok thanks. I don't think popup blockers will be a problem then. I think it is because the visitor called the script and it wasn't run automatically.

I would still like to hear some oppinions on if I should do it. Right now I am more for the idea then against.

Another pro of using a popup is that you can keep your flash ads on the description page but have text ads only on the popup. This way flash ads won't effect the performance of the game. Will you have enough information to pad out a description page though? It might look a bit empty..
