    Hi

I have a website which is 3 months old - I just rose to a PR3 from PR0 and my website has 1950 backlinks.I know that PR is not the only determinant of SERP but I heard somewhere that it could take several more months after the PR update for newer sites to even show a listing somwhere on google due to the whole backling aging thing. Is this correct?

No, in most cases you are shown "somewhere in google" after a week (more or less). Your position depends of many things - probably the most important is strenght of your competitors.

It does make sense to me, however the newer sites are usually sandboxed that's why you may have read that it could take several month before real listing.

    Goodluck

You can check out your sitemap to see if it is indexed and any traffic from other keywords. Normally, it takes less than a month to be appear in the SERP.

No. You can get a better SERP even your site was just one week old. That would depend on your optimization.

In SERPs, you must know how strong and how competitive your keyword is. Meaning if you do that, you may predict when to get to the top. :)

PR is updated continuously thus the recent toolbar PR will not affect your serp.
Just read the sandbox thread for advice on new sites

Toolbar PR and your SERP results are not related...you would think someone that has as many posts as you would understand this by now...
