    Hello,

i see domains for sale that have domain appraisals, Is it really worth paying for a domain appraisal in order to sell that domain?

Some people don't know anything about domains and the appraisal make them think it's an opportunity however an appraisal for me and for most people related with this business means nothing

It depends on who appraises it.. like domnom said, it'll show whatever potential your domain/site has.

Some people purchase domains, soley to sell them after.

To put it in one word, no.

Total waste of money & time, always overpiced valuations by people who have no idea of what they are doing. If you want an appraisal of a name you own, post it in forums.

Just for he fun of it I submitted a domain I used to own for an appraisal at Premiumdomain.com, the next day they sent me an email to let me know my name was "Not a Premium" domain. Two weeks ago it cleared escrow for $5,000. That doesn't say much about professional appraisals.

Nice sale, congrats! Mind sharing the name? Was it a developed site or not?

No it wasn't developed, it was just a domain name, and they had me sign at NDA when I sold it. They are developing a product that has a close relationship to the name, and it was also generating about 150 unique "typeins" each day; so the free traffic had a great deal to do with the purchase.
