Most people will go with Linux hosting as opposed to Windows. If you are going to have PHP pages, you must have Linux. You can switch from one to the other if needed to, I believe.

How many websites are you going to have, if you're gonna have more than 1, you can't use the Economy hosting, you must use the Deluxe Hosting. You can always upgrade from Economy to Deluxe if you start with just the Economy one.

    Hope that helps

Althought I am more a Windows person but if you are looking at using existing scripts and MOD Rewrite for SEO Purposes then Linux is the better choice.

I would price around for hosting before you decide on GoDaddy. Seem there have been a lot of complaints from people on the forums. I found the pricing a bit high when you are ready to grow. Check in the different areas of Digital Point for good deals.

As far as the server, hands down Linux.

I second that. I try their hosting package before and the interface is not very user friendly. Additional, i strongly believe that they are over selling. Anyway, godaddy is a good option for domain registration.

yeah- ive heard alot of good reviews about hostgator- but there baby package is $10.00 a month and godaddy's is $7.00 month. I plan to build alot of sites and have several domains- although right now im fairly new and still just using html and just starting to explore css templates.

I would try Netfirms instead, which offer a dual platform so you can run WINDOWS-ASP content in a directory and LINUX-PHP in any other at your convenience.

In addition, GoDaddy has a reputations as bad hosting provider, plenty of annoyances.

Hmmm.... where have I heard about GoMommy?

    A GoDaddy relative :D
