Who wants real-time Chat in DP? Raise Your Hands!

I think this is one of the best feature to implement.
Instead of PMing, chatting is faster.

I know that it has been discussed for quite sometimes.
But I didn't see any implementation.

Why would we need realtime chat? People respond so fast on this board that its already pretty close to realtime chat.. :b

 

Seems a reasonable idea to me. I know a couple of VB forums that already have chat and it seems to be popular and viable for them.

A poll is better than a raising of hands. But this has been discussed ad nauseum. Like many have said, it ain't gonna happen. By the way, I think the chat thing is good for kids, but once you get a little older, trust me, it gets tiring.

Well we have all section than why we need real time chat. People can talk here with open a topics where you want. That's it.

 

the board is pretty much in real time as well , id vote against it , as the costant refershing of the box will be an annoyance

Besides a chat would be very useful for spamming purposes and adding extra server load

 

Exactly ... extra load for nothing is not helpful. Its better we use Yahoo!, Msn, Gtalk and AIM for this purpose and not DP.... the server should be used for something better like Coop network and not chat.

 

You know, I found a website a while ago where you input the URL of your site and there was a chat box just for that URL. It went through the chat website instead of DP so it wouldn't cause a load. I'll try and find it.
