IMO, most of DP users has his own website. I launched a site 3 years ago, all made by myself: domain registration, server programs, build and fill database, made logo, link building, partnerships, etc. Now that site has +12,000 unique visitors daily.
70% organic (search engines), 25% direct (bookmarks or not referral provided by browsers), and 5% referral (links from other sites). The high organic traffic is because is a site with thousands of pages, each of them with his own keywords.
i already have a few website, and i have launched a blog recently! am getting a few thousand uniques on few of my sites, rest of those are also gaining traffic from search engies very quickly! actually on dp, everyone has a lot of sites and most of them have pretty successful sites!

I would also love to start one of my own as soon as I learn how to install scripts via the control panel.
I started a few sites in the past years, just for the fun out of it and learning experience, but nothing really huge.
I only design my own sites.. However, I wish I built some and bought rare domain names back in the 90's!!! Could have been such an amazing investment..
