I plan on developing a new web site soon, and I would really like to see some profits from it fairly soon. I plan on writing all of the content, and it should be very unique and popular IF certain things happen. First, I need to get around the "sandbox" Google imposes on many sites, as this will be brand new. Second, I need to market the site in a good fashion. Since this is somewhat of a niche, I have yet to find similar sites to trade links or ads with. I may try adwords, but am unsure. Third, I will need to familiarize myself with the WP blogging script. What should I know about SEO and other addons to the script? Lastly, I need to know something about the YPN network. I do not plan on going with Adsense, as they are kind've cheap. Is YPN still working on invites only, or only reviewed and accepted sites only? Any other suggestions would be great too. Keep in mind I want to see profits in as litte as a month.
Have you registered a domain name yet? If not, I believe the best way to fast-track google SERPS (and therefore get cheap organic traffic) is to buy an existing site in your niche that is already in the google index. There are plenty of inexpensive sites around that would benefit from an SEO renovation and you'd have the advantage of avoiding your brand new site slipping into the supplemental index. Since google loves aged domain names you're most likely to avoid the sandbox all together. A big start IMO.
What's the hurry? If you are in need of quick money, a job would probably be the best solution..not starting a new business (contrary to popular belief) It's the "break it or make it in a month" that kills a lot of profit...While it's easy for someone who's got some experience to create sites and pull in profits in a week, it takes time (a lot of time) for first time website owners or people just starting out.. One month would be required to research a niche itself.. In any case, if you Are in a hurry, SEO is long-term, try forum marketing or social marketing or JV's for a short term. SEO takes time especially if you have no experience with it at all.. Best Wishes, Ana
I do have a job. I would prefer to see profits soon, it isn't completely necessary. I have previous experience with SEO, and plus WP has some integrated SEO features from what I hear. I already am familiar with the niche, so no time constraints there.
WP lets you categorize your posts with tags...these tags are good for SEO. So for example, say you have a health blog and you're writing a post on various weight loss programs...you could associate the post with a tag called 'weight loss programs'...supposedly this is good for both SEO and organization of your blog as well. If you have money to spend and you want to get your site indexed FAST, considering buy a PR 7 home page link. After a month, cancel...a link from a PR 7 site will have your site indexed VERY quickly. Adwords is your best bet for getting around Google's sandbox rule.
What is special about PR7? is it becuase it's on the first page of results in a SE query? how come adwords is a good way to get around the sandbox?
Having a link to your website on PR7 site gets you indexed FAST, but PR7 sites are visited by the Googlebot VERY frequently...as a result, it comes across your site fast. Adwords is a good way around sandbox because you can get your site listed on Google's first page in hours...the downside is you have to pay...but if you do adwords right, your ROI will justify paying per click.
This is what you should do. Release your site once you have the layout ready.. and maybe some homepage content. Next, keep adding in a page a day or so for as many days as possible (not sure how many articles you're going to have in there.. I would say 20 is a fair amount). So this will help you get quicker index... you can wait while you are adding/creating content rather than waiting once the WHOLE site is completed.
Thanks for the advice! I will definately put a new article out once a day for around a month or so- and keep adding fresh content. I will try adwords out. Thanks all!
don't be hurry.. please take some time.. Otherwise you might be ban by google. So, please and please take some time......... Proceed smartly but not so hurry.
This is a game of patience. If you need money quickly you better to look elsewhere. Although money spent on internet advertising is increasing all th time does not mean everyy guy out there witha site is making big bucks.
Please, understand that I know it takes patience. I am looking for the most efficient means of making money- not to rush into things. I think everyone has misunderstood me. Further advice to my first post is appreciated- all the advice on patience has been noted, thanks.
