    Go to the police.

It is really not that hard. If you made an agreement to buy the car with him, you have an oral contract and he has stolen your car.

I find it bizzare that you are doing everything but notifying the police that your car was stolen.

It cant be possible to get him now !

he has done his job you just now have hope and nothing to do.

take this as a lesson and be careful in future.

Muneeb: I know where he lives. I know his phone number, and I know where he works. This isn't over, nor will it be until I have what I paid for.

Sadly, brownton, I had a VERY similar experience last winter with my motorcycle:
I bring it in for a service, and the guy who owned the shop stole it, and sold it in parts.
I went to the police with the title and registration of the bike, and they told me there was nothing they could do - he apparently had a witness there sayin I owed him money and authorized him to sell it in parts.

I don't know what country you are in, but that don't fly in America. If you live somewhere else I am not sure what to advise you. If you live in America, file a police report and then sue him for the value you lost. You can do it in small claims court where the limits are around $7500 if I recall corectly.

I have no knowledge and have nothing to offer regarding German law.

I do sympathize. Several years ago I had a '66 corvette and my sister had a '71 911. We had a couple nice drives/races back then.

I Agree! An oral contract is same as a written contract! It's still an agreement! Try to report to the proper authorities.

Fej, As I said I've been in a position before where it was his word VS mine, I lost the battle then and don't see much point in trying with this, seeing as to even take it to court will cost money - money I don't have.

Is there such a thing as small claims court in Germany? In US you can go to small claims court and represent yourself.

wow, I'm sorry... but seriously, why don't you talk to a lawyer. you have an oral contract, this should be enough
I'm from Germany and gave him a call, but - surprise, surprise - his cell is turned off.

Thanks carrera, maybe a message on his business phone? :) Its greatly appreciated.

I'll go see what a lawyer has to say. Sadly there are more circumstances to this whole issue.. I'll take your advice and see what I can do.
though i still personally believe if I pester him enough.. he'll give in.
