Just curious as to what types of sites met their doom this termination round. It might help those of us still in.

I have seen alot of sites have problems when they buy pay per click ads on search engines and ad sites.

I think proxies will be next thing to have problems.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but YPN doesnt boot for buying ads do they? that makes no sense to me. I actually applied to YPN 2 days ago, and my plan was to buy ads as well. Why do they do that?

If you want to survive with YPN, dont complain or show ad issues to them. They know what their problems are. But YPN dont know how to fix them. Wait till they reslove the issues (mostly at this rate they may take couple of years).

Many myspace related sites were being given the boot, but it's all based on how much international traffic you're receiving. A few entertainment related sites were given the boot quickly as well (funny videos, arcades, etc type sites). The key is to always geo-target, it's the safest way to use YPN.

There is no protection against being banned, except actually running a mortage site I guess.

People get banned regardless of website theme, geo-target or amount of money made. But yeah, people who only run it on Myspace sites or general "entertainment" get the boot pretty quick.

If you have a quality sites, that converts for the advertisers, YPN loves you...do that, and you will stay in the program.

d16 - But even if I have decent traffic and everything , how could I be sure that my traffic converts? Its not my fault if it doesn't.

Problem is that the publisher is always blamed for low conversion. Not the crappy targeting system or badly designed/false ads and landing pages.

It's hard to "convert for the advertisers" when your ford explorer site gets nothing but vonage and rhapsody ads. :D

I understand that...but what I have done is actually change some of my sites either back to adsense, or change the theme of the site...I try to do what will keep YPN happy, because in the end they have the say so...

Bending over backwards to "keep YPN happy" will just end in heartache when they willy nilly decide to ban you for whatever gratuitous reason they come up with on a given morning. There is "following the rules" (Adsense) and there is "bending over backwards" for a company that simply refuses to follow-through on the most basic solutions (YPN).

Why won't they filter out international clicks again?... Because that's just another excuse they can use when they decide they no longer need you.

[1] After allmost more than 1 and 1/2 yr, still they cannt filter international clicks.
[2] After 1and 1/2 years still their ad filters dont work correctly.
