I run a website that offers software which allows you to view a lot of internet tv stations on your pc, problem is with my current keyword list in my campaign i'm typically paying a dollar or 2 more than recieved for a signup...

should i be focusing on a better landing page for better conversions?

    or

should i be focuing on cheaper keywords?

any help would greatly be appreciated -- thanks!

You're in a bit of tough spot. Try to find some cheaper keywords. If you can't find cheaper keywords, then you need to increase the amount you charge for a signup (conversion). In addition, making your landing page more relevant to your pay per click ad will help to improve your quality score which will in turn lower your cost per click to maintain your desired ad ranking. Here are some suggestions for improving your landing pages.

I think what hulligan is saying is true. You need to also review the adcopy. I guess may be the adcopy which you must be targeting may not be suitable to the keywords. Also get to offer more benefits and features in your adcopies. Let me know in case you need any help.

    All the best

I bet you if you just trim the fat, you'll be in the black. Get rid of budget sucking keywords and just run the good converting ones. Don't become married to any keyword and don't think "just one more click and it's profitable". Get rid of the crap and you'll be doing fine.
