I have a certain domain which I want to build a website on and sell within a month.

my question is which kind of website would bring maximum dollars, a forum? a blog? what?

that is very hard to say. Probably not the right question to ask. You must do something which you are good in. Creating a good forum or blog requires differnt kind of skills and marketting.

It is easy to create a site, but not so easy to generate sustainable income. You must find which one you will be able tio monitise better. problem with blogs is that, it depends mainly on the owners ability to write and find the right topic. SO not very easy for a buyer to maintain the quality. I hope this would answer your question partially.

Sounds like you're trying to do the online version of "flip this house". I think the answer to your question is to build a quality site with a suitable audience. Do you think you can build a site in a month with an audience, and generate any kind of revenues from it? If so, you should start lecturing around the world, because I don't know of too many people who can do it successfully.

It entirely depends on number of facts.
forum -> number of users/threads/daily visitors
blog -> number of entries/daily visitors
    etc..
I guess you can't get a PR within one month. So try to find many visitors and populate your database. No need to worry about back links. Just spend few $$ on ppc programs...

Making high revenue earing website in a moth is like seeind day dream.

You can earn revenue from a month old website only if you George bush or Amitabh bachhan.

It's not the *type* of site that determines the price, but the
size of the audience, userbase, income, profit, potential... and
    so on.

Think about who you're trying to sell it to, and what they want.
Then make it, and sell it :)

that's what I'm thinking about - which is why I'm asking you (the webmasters) what kind of site you'd like to buy.

    thanks for the input! :)

Most webmasters make their own sites.

An ecommerce site - either one selling affiliate products or a high-value and in demand goods. Forums need a lot of time to build.

You are aproaching the problem in a bad way

Without a revenue or good traffic you can't sell for much a site
