Some of you might know this, for those who don't, check this Yahoo Clone.

Make guesses before you check the link!

AOL has officially won the award for the biggest rip off and copycat in the history of the internet.

Yikes, those look almost identical in format, minus a different color gradient. Hmm, a little more originality would have been good. They even used the same iconic setup on the left column.

And why even bother copying it- yahoo's layout is so busy now, it is impossible to use. I am on broadband and it still takes forever to download.

Haha, and to think I hated AOL to begin with.
I mean their customer support is legendary (and not in a good way), their marketing can only be compared to that of a mass spammer.. And now copying yahoo?

I think AOL is actually secretly run by 8 year olds :/

If I were Yahoo, I would sue them. The new AOL site is definitely a derivative of Yahoo's work, and if that holds true in court, AOL is in deep sh*t. In the US, you can't legally base your work on a copyrighted work. Lawsuit in 3... 2... 1...

Why AOL do that? Fear of competition from google and yahoo. 'coz these two 2 SE are the 2 most popular search engines in the world wide web. and I think AOL is using this as strategy for redesigning clone of YAHOO...:)

On a second thought, I'm wondering if it's wrong to work on the lines of something that's tried and tested? I think the problem does not lie with a similar design as much as in the fact that there are no additional features to attract users away from Google or Yahoo.
