nice job on 100 posts ;)

at the begining of this year I started to hit 100$ a month off of adsense im hoping to get to 200-300 by the end of the year from adsense alone. I'm also thinking of trying to sell templates as well, I'v entered a few competitions in the contest forum and it seems like a good way to pick up some extra cash.

Nah, you really need an education to be a graphic designer, if you're planning to work at an design factory you need more than graphic skills I think.

Here on this forum the logo's are made are not really connecting with website/company...people are just asking for a WEB 2.0 logo...or: I need a logo and someone just take a random font and make some shiny stuff.

If you're making a professional logo you need to know what the website/company does...the typography has to fit with the company...the colors...good logo's show the identity of the website/company.

And if it's for a big company where it has to be put on cars...you have to make it vector and it must be perfect, because you will notice little faults in your logo very fast if it's printed big :)

The customer knows nothing about that so you have to take care of it...imagine if it's printed on the car but it is still full of faults...that sux ;)

So if you're planned to become a graphic designer go to school ;)

Self-taught, but i have to mention that I have been drawing for like 12 years from now. This more or less has helped me in graphics design.

    Hello

Well I agree that creativity is solely a personal tact but designing skills can be derived or learnt from an expert source.

Ok put it this way. Imagine you are an expert logo designer or graphic designer (I know you are) and you have got this passion for art lovers and knowledge seekers.

Most definitely you would like to impart your expert knowledge to these art hungry mobs, which utilizing their own Creativity may go on to create master pieces in the future.

Therefore I believe that people can learn and must learn the designing techniques from the experts so as to time and better use it on creating art work.

It is my personal experience that when I wanted to learn about Flash (Ages ago) I went for application tutorials and help. Then my younger brother (expert in flash & animation) took almost no time in teaching and making me understand the basics.

And after that I was on my own, still I do require his help but obviously not on basics. I believe I would have spent a lot of time on learning for basics (creating motion and using effects) if I would have gone for tutorials.

People have the right to disagree! :)

    Thank you

What do you end up with a Bachelors in Design? Is this only college level education? As there is a University for arts here although the name says college.. but standards are like other univerisities so it's kind of ambiguous..
