Best Suit To Choose?

I'm going to a wedding and I want to buy a brand new suit. I'm in need of some advice.

Basically, I want it to be a black suit, white shirt, black shoes and silverish tie. :)

I'm not sure what looks better, pin stripped, or just plain colour without any pattens etc.

Guys, what suit would you wear? :D

Armani! Of course :D Can't you get some consultation at the boutique? I'm sure they can help you out! I know there's technical stuff like collar,... buttons.. etc... :p

I think plain looks better - you can get away with light grey pin stripes on a dark grey suit, but I'd definitely recommend plain.

Hey, I think pin stripe looks nice! Also doesn't your body type matter as well? I know pin stripe will make you look taller (verticle lines) :D

    hehe...i'm 6'3" i don't really need to look taller :D

I think a orange suit with some black pin stripes might be pretty cool...i have an excellent sense of fashion...

 no no no! lol is that what are you joking?:p A sleek design would be black fabric with dark grey pinstripe so they're not THAT visible :D

I love the pinstripes! But of course, it does depend on your body type... If you are thin, or even broad shoulderd, with a nice taper to your waist, pinstripes are the way to go. But if you are a bit on the roundish side, you'll probably want to stick to the solid colors.

But then, I am a girl and you are asking for guys opinions, so maybe I'll just keep my mouth shut. :p

Ladies have a better sense of fashion ;) (lol such a stereotype) but seriously.. I was shocked my guys (before prom) were talking all of the technical suit stuff.... and I thought they thought suits all looked the same :p

I've never understood the purpose of adding something to a suit...that you try to hide...

ok...so not orange...how about neon pink?...he could be the talk of the wedding...i'm sure the bride would love that :D

The question you sould be asking yourself is:

Do you wear a suit often?
If you do then get a pinstripe, you will get the wear out of it before stripes go out of fashion. If you do not, get a plain one. Unless of course price doesn't matter!

With a plain, atleast you can wear the trousers on their own or the Jacket on their own at a later date if you do not wear a suit that often.

As for Armani or other designer suits, I would get a made to measure suit from a good tailor before a designer suit. Create your own style, your own look and most of all choose your own fabric.

And what has it to do with me?

I own a Menswear and Tailoring shop in the UK (and have done so for the last 20 years) so maybe I am biased or maybe I know a little about it or maybe I don't? Who knows?

PS 8everything, 3 button single breasted is so last year even if it is Armarni! :)

I must admit, subtle stripes are good because from a distance people assume you have a plain suit on, its only when they get up close and talk to you that they appreciate the beauty in the cloth. Good call ;) ;)
