Just wondering, how organized is everyone here in keeping track of your submissions? Do you track EVERY SINGLE site that you have submitted to? Or do you only track those that you pay? How abt those that are pending? Personally, for myself, i just track all the paid submissions and those >PR3 free submissions or I will have an endless database. How abt you guys?
All that are paid we track, but the free one's sometimes have gone bust before they have even approved the submittal
I only track paid submissions and advertising. I cannot bother with free submissions and see no point in tracking them. The only reason I track is so I know how much money I have spent.
I actively track 40% of my paid submissions monthly. The other 60% are with highly trusted directories which have my full confidence. If they drop off the scopes, I'll hear about it right here on the forum.
I used to keep track of my paid submissions --but lost all my database after a crash. For free submissions--- well I don't feel to keep them as they come and go.
As per most of the others, I only track paid submissions. I used to do the freebies too, but so many of them close within three months it just wasn't worth the effort.
well, i may not be as experienced as many of you, but shldn't you guys shld seriously consider keeping at least some basic tracking system of backlinks? In that way, u can have some idea of how far u have gone in your marketing and how much more you need to go to hit your next PR target. Also, it helps alot in marketing your site when u can list confidently the minimum number of PR8, PR7, etc backlinks you have. It also helps in your various analysis like traffic and SE analysis.... don't you think? my 2 cents
I track All Paid submittions and if my site sits on any Free or Paid PR4 link + it is recorded in my program for daily checking and or monitering. thx malcolm
I keep track of every submission I make. Now If I check my database.... This is a different question. I just want to know that I have all the info I need, even if it's hard to look through it...
i wish someone wld make a toolbar mod that will accept any text inputs and it will automatically enter it into a file, that wld make it so much easier to keep up-to-date. any takers?
We track all submissions, even free ones. But that's because we do it for our clients, so we have software, etc that makes it easy. Plus we can look back and tell what sites post right away and which ones never approve submissions. That way we can refine our list and not waste our time with the ones that never review/approve/edit, etc. We also track all links once they are posted with link checker software. This way we can stay on top of things, especially for paid submissions. (Free demo available in the sig link below, PM me for a DP member discount on the software ). It helps immensely when we see any drops in SERPs we can look right away and see any specific drops in links, etc. It helps to eliminate any reasons for wild SERP changes.
Not sure which one you mean: The submission software is a custom in house "hack" So, can't share I believe that Directory Submitter automatically tracks submissions that you can export to a excel file (date, time, etc). (Warning though: some folks are against using this type of software, but I have never understood why cus it isn't automated and requires a human to submit). The link tracking software, we sell and can be found on the Jade Rhino site. Give it a test drive and if you like it, I can give a major discount. Just PM me
