Saint Bernards become food dogs - Mainland China promotes import Despite the Chinese government’s constant declaration of its extraordinary achievements in environmental and wildlife protection, some government agencies recently are promoting the import of Saint Bernards for food. Chinese experts recently found that for massive captive breeding and killing for meat, the best kind of dogs is the Saint Bernards, which are imported from Switzerland, also called "Big Dumb Dog" According to the China Central Television in Beijing, the experts pointed out that Saint Bernards are fast growing and disease resistant. The advantages of using them for food dogs are that they eat less than other dogs but breed fast. Because they rest immediately after meals, they grow faster too, on average gaining over one pound per day. Within a month, they could grow to be over 30 pounds. In three to four months, they will be ready for the market. Beside the obvious advantage of fast growing , Saint Bernard also breed fast. On Average a female gives birth once a year. Litter size usually is around nine to twelve, nearly double that of other breeds. The CCTV reports also stressed that Saint Bernards are kind and friendly in nature. They don not bite people, so the breeders need not worry. "Big Dumb Dogs" are usually trained for rescue purposes in winter. An interview with a Chinese dog breeder states: When China opens the dog meat market and dog breeding industry, it will gradually become like raising cows and sheep. Buyers of the Saint Bernards include farmers and small businessmen who come from all over China hoping to make some money on the side breeding dogs. They are drawn by ads boasting of a high rate of return, three times as profitable as poultry and four times as profitable as raising pigs, the ads promise. So far in China there were industrial breeders for cows and pork but not for dogs until Saint Bernard industrial breeders appeared. A report from the China Journal of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Productions July 25th, 1999 quotes: "Because foreign people resent the dog-eating habit in some areas of China, they are not willing to sell their pet dogs to China which causes some difficulty to our importation. Currently we are trying to negotiate with foreign companies on how we can import stud dogs in order to meet the internal needs". People who eat animals are not filthy, thats just stupid to say. I just stopped eating red meat so I will not eat dogs. But before, if a dog slaughterhouse had a good standard I would eat dogs like I ate cows. Its animals. But the way they tread dogs in your pics is terrible and they should go to jail for that.
So it's only the "dog eaters" that have got it wrong? You're all the same. No matter what you want to call your "meat", it all comes from something you probably couldn't raise, slaughter, and butcher yourself. You should have a serious look at where the "food" you eat comes from.

This is not meant to be human food and you know it. You are using the pic as a propaganda pic. Where did you find it? If you want to do good show pics from animals that are human food. What about cows ?
