    1) You can withdraw anytime via Paypal check if you are withdrawing US$150 and above. You should get the check from them within 45 days.

    2) Depends. If you continue to maintain an unverified account or are dishonest in your sign up or deal with risky transactions, you may get your account frozen and at which time you need to verify the transactions or your account. Most of the time, sending them a faxed copy of your credit card statement, photo ID and utility bills in your name would fix the problem. If it is frozen because of risky transaction, you just need to provide proof of delivery or an invoice.

    3) For India, the only way you can verify without risk is using a bank-issued Credit Card. Virtual Credit Card provides no level of real verification because it does not proof who you are, it may work for a while but if Paypal ask you to update the card or provide them with a faxed credit card statement, you end up with trouble.

You will get a Citibank Check drawn on an India branch of Citibank. Banking it in is like banking an Indian check and should clear in a few days.

sure, am using paypal for some time now:

they pay when you reach $150, you can withdraw your checks after you reach $150. they pay you by checks.

you can withdraw $500 in a month, and $3000 life time, if you don't verify your account. but then you need a credit card for verification.

if you want more than $100 to send, or $500 a month to withdraw, or more than $3000 life time, then you need to verify with a credit card.
you can verify with a vcc, but it is a cheating method, and you can get your account banned if you get caught!! not recomended.

am from india, and i suggest you to use money bookers, you don't need a credit card verification, you have the address verification option. just verify your address by the letter sent by them.
money bookers directly submit the money to your bank, so no checks problem. highly suggested!! cheers!:D

Priya, most people use Paypal (90% - if not more). Moneybookers is certainly one option, but their banck account verification method is tiresome. And you cannot depost and withdraw money to/from your own accounts for free there...

They need to make money somehow. I don't think international bank transfer is free, banks usually would charge for the transactions.

    Nice question!!
However none of us has the exact answers.

It can be as easy as in 10 days and can get tougher by reaching you in a max 45 days.
However the best part of Paypal is that it may not reach you at all. :D

In case the check doesn't reches you, after waiting for 45 days you will have to communicate with the Paypal authorities and get your previous check cancelled and get a new check issued for yourself thereby paying them a lot of $$

To get first check issued: $5
To cancel the first check: $15
    To reissue the check: $5

Therby depleting your funds by a whopping $25.

If you are ready for the ordeal well and good else bring money the smarter way to India.

    Use Xoom.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry to say but I don't think so that Xoom has any tricks up it's sleeve by which it can make the postal department "lose" our valued cheque.

As I live in India so I point out the "Indian postal department" for the loss or delay in the cheque reaching us.

However I have also heard that "Paypal" itself delays a lot in issuing our cheques and sometimes doesn't issues it all (although the system doesn't shows it as issued)

Also I would like to add that it would be very "childish" of me to point out errors in the Paypal system as I am no way associated with them and neither do I live in America but it is a well known fact how "Indian Government departments" function.

However the bottom line here is that our cheques don't reach us. It may be because of the Indian Postal Department or the Paypal authorities but all of us have had a very bad experience with them.

So now a majority of us have moved to Xoom.

All about xoom service can be seen at their website : http://www.xoom.com

Feel free to ask out further questions.

Why do you say that Malaysia does not recognize Paypal ? Malaysia is one of the approved paypal countries.

Well, from what I understand, Malaysian Paypal account holders cannot withdraw into their Malaysian bank account using Paypal and thus it may not be popular for that reason.

Yes xoom is quite a good and effective way of transferring money to india as I have heard everywhere.

Meanwhile cash2india.com is also a good means of transferring money safely from your paypal account to your bank account.

And the fees for transaction are very less. Much lesser than you would actually pay paypal. :D

BTW, I have joined DP forum right now and am Waziuz from New Delhi, India. I had always been using DP forums for relevant information and even google many a times directed me to DP. ;) However, did not join it till now although I am a part of almost every important webmaster forum but did not join the best and most popular forum although I have directed many to join it. :D Hope I would enjoy being a valuable member out here to and can get enlightened by all your knowledge and impart my limited (or maybe not so limited  ) knowledge to you all.
