that's funny, there's a post on ewealth discussing Europa (moon of Jupiter) as also being a Earth-like planet. Great conversation starters! Can't wait for public space travel.

I wonder what kind of natural resources are in this earth?
How habitable the land really will be - how much water, oil, etc will be present.

But best of all.. How the HELL are you supposed to get somewhere thats almost 195,000,000,000 kilometers away..?

It's an interesting find...though they are saying it's an 'earth-like' planet just because of how far it is from it's sun (which is also a guess...they can't be certain with something that 114 BILLION away...

If i remember right...moving the earth just a bit closer or farther in it's orbit would make it uninhabitable...so excuse me for being a critic (just the way my mind works...lol)...but I find it hard to believe for the sheer fact that like I said...it's 114 BILLION miles away...so there is no way to be sure of it's EXACT (which is what you'd need) distance from it's sun.

Well, its still a pretty good discovery, but until we figure out a way to transverse in lightyear, I double we'll be landing on it anytime soon. On another note, isn't it possible that if there is extraterrestrial life, that it may use other forms of tech communication other than radio signals and the like?

EDIT: Oops, sorry didn't notice this was such an old topic, saw it in the Similar Threads, and thought it looked interesting. Sorry for the year+ bump....
