I know they must be a rip-off, but I see enough of the ads around when I check out SiteMeter, so people must bite. There's also another thread active right now where someone mentions buying and being disappointed, but why? My image is of a site getting hit by basically a DDoS at worst, at best a crawler that keeps crawling your site until the required number of pages are retrieved.
mostly it's just a bunch of untargeted, shitty traffic...(which would be the reason for disappointment)...the traffic isn't really any good if it doesn't get you any new leads/customers/members... i've not seen any reports of a DDoS event from it (granted...i don't read about this all the time...lol)...but it could happen i suppose...
I have experimented with something exactly like this and 99.9% of visitors were one hit wonders and not ONE conversion was won. It's useless traffic.
Yes it is untargeted traffic from go knows where . Perhaps hidden frames, perhaps popunders, paid to clicks, bots, etc.. I have tried them and all they do is increase the size of your log files, it is often all referrers traffic that is redirected through some traffic exchange. Don't expect your link to appear anywhere where people willing choose to click on it. The only time I can see a service like this would being useful is if you wanted to stress test a server.
This is all bad traffic as far as adsense is concerned. You will get your account anned because such traffic is seens as being against TOS.
KenYN, please do not fall for this shitty traffic. I did fall for it once only to realize that what everyone else was saying about it was true: it IS crappy crappy crappy traffic. The only people that will tell you it works are the ones that are selling it...
you can not do anything with those traffic. they are not your target customer and maybe even not stay in the site for more than 5 secs. so it's waste of money to buy a traffic. better spend on a permanent back link...
well,...after all the sensation reviews about how good of a buy this would be...i hope you decide against it ...take your $50 and go buy a link on a related site...you'll get more 'real' customers out of that
A majority of that type of traffic is Forced/Blind, thus you will rarely see a ROI due to this 1 overwhelming fact. It's kind of like when you were a kid and you were forced to do something that you really did not want ...and wanted to get done and out ASAP. Same scenario here. Your interests laid elsewhere, thus you paid little or no attention. -=Chipmunk=-
I have paid for traffic. But the traffic are just totally useless. I did not make a single sale from these kind of traffic. It is just a waste of money.
I actually don'y know what would happen. I seen such deals advertised but assumed they were useless... Looks like the popular opinion is the same.
It is nice to dream to buy 1.000.000 normal hits for 50$. If, so cheap traffic, could be giving any results, then all webmasters will be buying it. But now, such traffic buys just poor webmasters, with a big hope, and finally get disapointed. Reason to buy such a traffic is to promote just page impressions or banner impressions, but not clicks, signups or sales. Usually, normal sites do not need so much untargeted or generated traffic. Because everything you'll get for those 50$ is just bigger charge for bandwidth. Shortly: if you hope that such traffic will promote your site, the answeri is NO. There will be 0% returning visitors, 0 clicks, 0 sales. How do you think, WHY people are paying 1$ or 2$ dollars just for one click ? Because nowadays, just targeted traffic - is good traffic.
