I just got approved for adsense and ive been writting a couple blogs , I have viewed my blog like a hundred times since im new to blogger and have to see my changes- will these impressions get me banned or am i ok as long as i dont click on the ads?
yeah, i'd be banned already if impressions counted...as most would a lot of designers around here I'm sure... I generate tons of impressions while I'm working on a design for my site, or changing something...not to mention posting on my forums... that made me think too...forum owners would be screwed...lol so yeah...no worries...just be careful where you put your mouse
banned for viewing your own ads, wouldnt that be something? lol then google will be flammed all over the net
I think the only consideration would be if your viewing your ads through a proxy. Having too many impressions vs. clicks will lower your ctr and may affect your payout %. Having a high number of impressions from the same ip is probably fine. Having a high # of impressions vs. clicks implies your site has a low value for advertisers which lowers your quality score which lowers your payout and affects which advertisers will show on your site. I could be way off on this, but when you think about all the forum owners getting pennies for a click, most of them have an extremely low ctr as well.
You can always see changes under preview mode. That should help with invalid impressions. viewing ur blog too many times is not a good idea
you just reminded me, i need to figure out how to use the preview mode...i've been meaning to do that for the past year...(though gosh it'd be easier just to click those links...lol)
when you make changes to your blog never save them before viewing a preview. Just next to Save there is a preview button under Edit HTML. i guess it's not there when u r adding widgets. But widgets won't screw up much you can always delete them. But while editing a HTML code always preview first before u save coz it can totally screw up the code. If there is something wrong, just click "clear all changes" or soemthing like that..i forgot if u want to see ur ads in different countries, you can use adsense preview tool. thats the safest instead of using proxies etc. Reps appreciated
true, that is excellent advice...i have designed webpages myself w/o the benefit of blogger and had to refresh multiple times to test changes; it's also good to look at the site in explorer 6, explorer 7, firefox, opera, safari, etc -- so it adds up to a lot of checks to make sure the site is functional
If you are using FireFox, download Adblock Plus, and have it set to automatically block all ads on your URL. That will ensure you don't generate false impressions and accidentally click ads while updating.
I would like to say that you are still fine even you clicked at your own ads(by mistake not on purpose) i think google will still understand somehow. I heard some people even click it a few time themselves but not be banned. ps: dont try to click it though
Its pretty easy to turn adds off Go to your hosts file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and add the following text: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 adwords.google.com #[Gmail ads] 127.0.0.1 pagead.googlesyndication.com 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com #[Google AdWords] 127.0.0.1 syndicate.googlesyndication.com 127.0.0.1 syndicate2.googlesyndication.com 127.0.0.1 googlesyndication.com 127.0.0.1 adservices.google.com 127.0.0.1 syndicate.google.com 127.0.0.1 syndicate2.google.com 127.0.0.1 ssl.google-analytics.com 127.0.0.1 www.google-analytics.com #[Google Analytics] 127.0.0.1 google-analytics.com 127.0.0.1 imageads.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads1.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads2.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads3.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads4.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads5.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads6.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads7.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads8.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 imageads9.googleadservices.com 127.0.0.1 www.googleadservices.com
