Does Google reduce adsense payout for adwords driven traffic?

I have a site that I'm getting traffic to from adwords, but i also have adsense on the site, i greatly increased my adwords spending and I noticed a big decrease in adsense payout from traffic generated by adwords. Clicks went way up but pay dropped by 50%.

Does google have some kind of mecanism here to avoid people doing arbitrage (even on real sites - not made for adsense sites)?

Could be that you just got smart-priced at this time, coincidentally. How old is your website?

That's one thing I don't like about Adsense.... there not consistent and the publisher doesn't really know what kind of commission they are getting.

Google isn't the only one that hides the commission...most of them do

Actually, many PPC affiliates use these statistics to lure publishers, with their "You'll recieve 75% of what the advertisers pay!" and such. God knows ruby used it for AdToll once already on me, and it got me slightly intrested.

I've even seen the old "80% of revenue share rear its ugly head. Got my goat that day. still haven't pulled the trigger yet.

There's a bad side to it? Care to share?

Thanks for the responses, I don't think it was smart priced because the ads are pretty much competitors sights..highly relevant.
