    thanks :)
I think they are decent considering that the zoom lens is also attached to a 3X teleconverter...which cuts the light considerably and usually degrades the image quality quite a bit
Yep, just bought the zoom lens used :)

Damn that must've been expensive, but weigh a ton also. I'm not to familiar with cameras, although my dad has a Nikon D2x..He was looking into buying a fish lens the other day..Anyhow, great camera man!

 I can't afford the lenses that equal the cost of a Hyundai automobile :p

the one I have is quite reasonable both in cost and **weight (Canon also makes the same lens but with IS (image stabilization) but it's twice as expensive. They also make 2 faster lenses in this focal length but again they are 2 & 3 times more expensive than the one I have!

    **Weight 1.56 lb ; Length 6.8" ; Maximum Diameter 3.0"

thanks! I bait them by turning on the hose...probably why the grass is so frickin' long :p
no wait, it's been over two weeks since I mowed :-o
I'll start small, backyard birds then go for squirrels and then a bald eagle or better yet a bald eagle carrying a squirrel or small bird ;)
sorry about the weeds! I'll have to hit the moon when it is the full version

    TY :)
I got a good deal on the actual zoom lens, ebays. Like I said, this is the most economical of the "heavy hitter" zooms that Canon offers :-D
I can thank DP for 1/4 of the funds and the rest was a royalty check from some prints I have sold :)
Of course! Except that might be a risky proposition depending on how hungry they are!
    cool, will do.

    I appreciat that.
They are not as good IMO as "Jat's" (old thread) but then again he has a monster lens - better quality than my combo

    A house divided
Canon vs. Nikon threads are as common on photography forums as the "what's your favorite X" here on DP

d70's are solid, akin to my first DSLR, The Canon Digital Rebel.

The body I have now is the Rebel XTi, 10MP

Canon just did 10MP to keep 'pace' with Nikon's offerings...it's a consumer thing.

Higher MP could mean higher noise. But the one thing the 10 gives you is more leeway when you go to crop images :)

6MP is plenty unless you print oodles of posters like 24x36 and larger.

Did I mention not to get me started?? :p
