Here's an email I just got from a host

Doesn't sound promising. I provided examples if him stealing mine as well as well known reputable websites.

    Sounds promising to me...

you can't expect them to just kill the guy without checking on it...they don't know you any better than they know him...so they have to check both sides and make sure everything fits before they can make a move...

I wouldn't expect them to act if it was just my article, but I pasted a few of them stolen, and some were from MSM websites. Oh well I'll keep you updated. I'm dealing with two different thieves atm, but I'm sure there is more.

Im a host and i would do that daniel.

If i had proof of the same design and the other party could verify that it his/hers and could prove it by means of an online receipt then i would remove it even if they have paid in advance. It would be a violation of my TOS.

exactly...but you'd have to do the research first correct :)...you would talk to the offending member and tell them to take it down...you wouldn't just cut the site off...(which is what the host said they were doing in this instance...researching)...though that should only have taken a few hours max...

Was referring to you. Is there any programs that will scan your whole site and check for stolen articles on other sites? I have hundred and hundreds of articles, way too many to use copyscape on. I know there is more cause I've been on Digg so many times :\

Truthfully I'm not sure of any (I don't have that big of an issue to warrant me needing one)...

though sounds like a useful tool in the future...if you find one...be sure to let us know :D

lol...just a quick blog i threw up that i actually keep forgetting about...lol...I'm starting a new blog at my own website :D...

the main reason stuff keeps getting stolen is because the majority of people just don't put up the effort to stop them, or correct it when it happens...most people are becoming lethargic to the problem...which definately won't help the issue

ways to stop it? no...but there are ways of making it harder...

disable right click on your sites...then people have to find another way to copy the content (which is easy for those that know what they are doing)...but to the average stealer...it has the same effect as locking the doors to your car...they'll just go to the car that's unlocked...it's easier for them and wastes less time....
