    Revenue - $60/ month+ from Adsense

    Domain:

    Creation Date: 04-jan-2007

You will need to host this yourself asap after you win the auction. Please make sure your server can handle it, cpu usage is harsh.

Thanks for your bids so far, cb711 is the highest bidder at $140.

The site doesn't use a lot of bandwidth since it is a cgi proxy but the cpu usage is heavy, however, I'm not sure how to judge that?? I definately wouldn't recommend it on a reseller or VPS unless they specifically allow proxies.

username2481: the screenshots of all stats are here

I would also like to mention this site didn't just start up in mid march as the stats show, it's been running since Feb maybe even earlier but I don't have the full stats since I bought the site from someone.

However, I did find some older stats the previous owner had:

    http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/8361/proxycabnk7.jpg

You can also see most of the traffic is US traffic so that's certainly a plus.

Feel free to ask any more questions. It's really a solid proxy, nothing to hide here :)

All the stats I have have already been posted please read the thread.
I can't calculate a monthly expense as this runs on a dedicated server where I have a bunch of other sites.

This would really be perfect for someone with a dedicated already who's not using their server to the full potential. Other than that I can't suggest anything else you'll have to find your own proxy hosting. All I can say is it does eat the cpu.

I don't know how it works and I dont' care. All I know is CGI proxies do not eat up bandwidth even with a lot of visitors but strain the cpu. PHP proxies are easier on the cpu but eat a *$#)@#$ load of bandwidth.

Total for today as of 10:40PM EST $12.88 .

All this talk about CGI proxies not using any bandwidth is totally false. How is it possible for a proxy(the server box) to retrieve the file and send it to the user at a drastically smaller amount than a normal user can?

    Answer is no, it can't!

The data usage by Phproxy and CGI proxy are very closely related. Both retrieve files and send it to the viewer. The reason why people "think" that CGI proxies don't use my bandwidth is because all these traffic montiors fail to track the files correctly. I'm assuming that it's something in the programming of CGI proxies, where it leaves out a section of the file e.g. like a header section or something, which is usually read by traffic monitors.

If you have a "raw" data montior on the connection, you will see the data usage will be equal on Php and CGI proxies.

Things like awstats and cpanel traffic monitors would give incorrect results. Monitors used by data centers etc would have more accurate readings.

Just as a very very minimal calculation. If each viewer only viewed myspace website once, then the site would be using ~450MB in and 450MB out per 1400 viewers. (Myspace.com website downloaded and compressed with zip) I don't think CGI proxy has some "magic" which can compress data magically more, otherwise it'll be more publically available as a compression technique instead.

Those interested, if you assume that the average filesize downloaded on the 20th of April was 10KB (0.009MB) then daily bandwidth usage wouldve been 4.74GB IN and 4.74GB OUT, so about about 10GB. This is kinda unrealistic since files average alot more, so expect high amounts of data used.

Ok I wondered this myself before but never bothered to dig up some info. There doesn't seem to be much anyhow so it would be nice if someone could clarify. I don't see how the stats software wouldn't catch the bandwidth usage though.

    $20 increments please :)
