I used sitemap generator but didnt like the order it listed my webpages in. I finally found www.freesitemapgenerator.com and i like their way of doing sitemaps.

I do not know if you refer to my program... But if you do:

Why do you care about the order of urls in XML sitemaps

I refered to www.xml-sitemaps.com. Well yes, maybe an order of urls do not matter. I just don know but found a generator listing urls in order according to their position on a website ( those on a main page get the biggest priority, those from 2nd, 3rd level smaller).

I do not know if it really makes a difference for Google but it can, otherwise why they want us to use <priority></priority> tags?

Listed order in XML sitemaps <> Priority values.

Concerning the order (as far as I know) :
    • Has no meaning according to any published standard.
    • It has never been hinted it should make any difference.

I wrote an article about priority values in XML sitemaps some time ago.
