This is very strange, but I guess I don't have a clear understanding of what is actually going on. Seeing as how you can't actually 'click' on a radio ad, is Clear Channel/Google the only one making profits here? Google seems to be going completely outside their online advertising strategies (AdWords people pay and AdSense people earn) to just being another radio/print advertising company. Are we as web developers and AdSense junkies going to be able to bid on this radio ad space, or is it going to be larger companies? If it is a highest bidder gets the space, why wouldn't the larger companies always win the bid anyway? If they wanted the space in the first place, they are still going to be willing to pay Googles prices for the space.

I don't think this is exciting at all, nor is it 'boring'. It will be interesting to see what exactly happens with this, and how everything works.

based on what you said and that ugly logo that adsense units are displaying in very bold and noticeable way, I believe Google is trying to demonstrate that they are starving, when they don't

it would be impossible/pointless to implement an adsense solution for this....we can post google ads on our sites to earn revenue. however, since we don't own any billboards or radio stations, how are we going to sell that ad space?

I believe it's not an Adsense format, it's just radio publicity.

Advertisers can buy x number of "radio impressions".

    I think..

It's definitely true, it's a CPM based advertising model with impressive demographic targeting. I've setup my campaign, just need to get a 30 second ad recorded then I'm going to experiment with it over the next couple weeks. I'll post my impressions ASAP.

We would quite obviously not be selling the space; Google would. It would be done through our AdWords (or soemthing akin to it) portal. Record a small ad, bid on the audio placement, and let it go.
