Ya.. That's the thing .. It requires one time activation in order to protect the directory from SPAM! After you register and activate you can enter unlimited amount of listings without any activation or confirmations ...

Do you think that's good or bad ?? I personally believe that having confirmed account helps in times when you want to change your listing or something, otherwise I don't know. Most directories do not offer the flexibility to change your text/links when you want to optimize for something else or swich ..

    Please comment.

I don't feel registration is a good idea. Many people would just leave the site without bothering to register. But again that's what I feel....you got to check it with others as well. All the best!!!

Are you accepting gambling related sites?

I could not find any appropriate category...so was wondering.

Submitters usually don't like to do so, but it all depends. I am very sure if you provide a nice offer, they wouldn't mind registering at all. I like the idea of modifying anchor text by the submitter. ;)

In general I do support you because even I don't like to make accounts, but in case you are submitter and you submit more than one website that will make it easy because the registration is one time only and then you can add as much as you want.

Cheers and thanks for the feedback.

    Hey,

I accepted all the sites, but I got a new question now:

"Do you like or dislike the EMAIL Reply on your Listing Status?"

I'm sending email on reception and acception/decline so that's a lot of spamming ...

What do you prefer ? To send or not to send? This is the question? (like Shakespeare)

    Thanks,

    Venetsian.

I have been running several sites that allow users to add links and edit them at any time.

Most people do not like to register ... it interferes with submitting when sites have different methods of authorizing and activating, and slows down submissions. You will probably see a lot of visitors with a small number of link requests.

Lately we just send a random password for editing, along with the submit confirmation. Users generally will make changes in the first few days if they are unhappy with the title or description or wish to upload a banner/logo.

It is easier to get new listings with any change in a campaign so very few come back after that.

We also send an accept/decline email so the user knows which category the listing is located and any changes in the listing. We get a lot of descriptions that are just keyword lists, and they are often in the wrong category, so we try to help. :)

Hope this helps with your project.

your site looks good but i guess it's not advisable for directories to have registration and user log in. :)

Very interesting, I shall investigate the problem. Also I'll try to figure out how to skip the directory user registration requirements as soon as I finish writing the Directory Friendship Module

    Thanks for all your feedback.

The registration part is annoying but it doesn't stop me from joining as I generally add sites all along. Now, remembering the un and pw are sometimes a problem.

The only problem I see with the emails are that from experience some places email a lot and then I filter them. If they ever needed to tell me something important I would never know. Moderation is key with me.

I didn't find a really appropriate place for the site I listed but it should work.

Awesome site and idea!!! Thanks for letting us try it out.
